The Animal Sanctuary, Wilmslow is run by the Humane Education Society, a charitable organisation working for a more compassionate society through education and practical work with people and animals.
The Sanctuary provides a safe home for many different animals, both large and small, which have been brought to us for a variety of reasons. All desperately need good homes which will allow them to regain confidence and recover from whatever trauma has brought them to us. Please contact the Sanctuary for details or visit us to see some of the animals we have for rehoming.

The Society for Abandoned Animals is a small animal sanctuary based in Stretford, Manchester. We’ve been registered as a charity for 50 years. We rescue and rehome unwanted cats and rabbits. We are staffed by a small but incredibly dedicated team, and supported by volunteers from the local community. We rely solely on donations from our supporters. We are passionate about the work we do – we spend a lot of time getting to know the animals in our care, making sure that they find suitable homes and can make the best new start with their new families. No animals are put to sleep except on the basis of specialist veterinary advice; if an animal doesn’t find a new home, then the Society will care for that animal for the rest of their life.
